Recently the ABC presented a program about the status of youth in Australia and said that 70% of young people today say that they have low self esteem or no hope in life.
This is certainly reflected in the news stories nightly as more and more crime is happening among children as young as 10 year olds as well as teenagers.
When we reflect on why this is happening and what has changed in recent decades ,there has to be something we can put our finger on.
Without question there has been a big shift in society regarding religion as Christianity is being replaced by secular humanism.
The values of the 10 commandments, “do unto others as you would have them do unto you, love your neighbour as your self and respect those in authority“, have little sway any more.
But the biggest culprit is the evolution theory, in that there is no recognition
of a loving Creator involved in life who has a plan for good for all mankind.
But the expectation is that we all evolved from a piece of slime, then to a monkey and then to a human.
Sadly this theory is still taught to the children who believe it is gospel because so many think it is true, which results in little or no respect for life itself.
No wonder the youth have no sense of hope or meaning in life.
If we were to rediscover our lost roots and faith in Christianity our society would see some dramatic changes for the better.
