The Millicent community turned out in large numbers at Centennial Park on Sunday to thank front line workers for their work during the last two years of the pandemic.

Hospital employees, local ambulance, police, CFS and SES employees and volunteers were in attendance with emergency service vehicles on display.

Free donuts and sausages were on offer and a steady stream of people took the time to acknowledge the workers who were able to attend.

Millicent and Surrounds Health Support Group (MASHSG) were a driving force behind the day and were supported by the Hospital Advisory Council (HAC), Meals on Wheels, South East Property Sales, Lions and Wattle Range Council.

MASHSG member Trevor Sinclair said

“It’s been a great day, there have been people coming and going all day and the weather has been brilliant.

“Every aspect has been well organised and I think people have appreciated the opportunity to thank the first responders.”
