The District Council of Robe is calling for community feedback on two important draft documents helping to outline the town’s future.

The Draft Strategic Plan 2024-2028 and Draft Buildings and Structures Asset Management Plan were both endorsed at the April council meeting.

Residents and ratepayers are now invited to have their say.

The Draft Strategic Plan 2024-2028 outlines council’s vision for the district’s development over the next four years.

After already taking into account the Robe 2050 Community Voices Survey, council would now hear the community’s views again.

The document outlines six key strategic directions including enhancing the towns appearance and promoting its heritage.

Council will host two community meetings at the Robe Institute on April 24 at 2.30pm and then 5.30pm.

Meanwhile, the Draft Buildings and Structures Asset Management Plan is also out for consultation.

This plan details information about assets and actions required to provide the desired level of service in the most cost-effective manner while outlining associated risks.

Mayor Lisa Ruffell said the release of these documents represented a significant opportunity for the community.

“By prioritising transparency and community engagement, we are empowering residents to actively shape the future of Robe,” she said.

“I encourage all residents to take advantage of the opportunities for feedback and make their voices heard.

“These documents reflect our dedication to clearly setting the strategic direction for the Robe community, as well as underpinning our aspirations to foster an environment of openness and honesty.”

Submit feedback for both documents on council’s website, via email council@robe.sa.gov.au, in writing via forms at the council office or in person through private appointments with the chief executive or by attendance at community meetings.

Consultation for both plans at 5pm on May 3.
