A new chief executive officer has stepped up to lead Regional Development Australia Limestone Coast (RDALC).

Lauren Oxlade started in the role this week after being promoted from RDALC manager investment and infrastructure.

She has previously worked in local and state governments and has volunteered around the community.

RDALC chair Evan Flint said after an independent recruitment process, the board’s decision was unanimous.

“Lauren brings extensive networks across the region, with experience in local Government and state government, as well as natural resource management,” he said.

“She has a delivery focus and a commitment to communication both with the Board and our stakeholders.”

With RDALC aiming to support small business, encouraging investment and growing the leaders of tomorrow, Ms Oxlade said she was looking forward to stepping into the role.

“For me it is the perfect first CEO position as I have the opportunity to be more strategic and advocate for the region, while still staying connected to the delivery of outcomes,” she said.

“I believe in the work that we do; we are a small organisation and I am happy to chip in when the team is working together and needs another set of hands.”

The promotion leaves a gap in staffing, and recruitment will commence this week for a manager of program delivery and a part time communications officer.

“We have a great team and look forward to finding the right people to fill the vacancies,” Ms Oxlade said.
