The Western Border Junior Netball Association will be out in full force at the Netball SA Country Championships this weekend.

With no senior side represented for the Association this year, it will be the five juniors teams which will vye for the honours across three grades.

They will compete over three days against rival teams from across country South Australia, including the Mid South East and Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara Netball Association.

It is no surprise to see Millicent strongly represented across all grades.

The 17 and Under team is dominated by Saints, with six of the 10 players from Millicent, as well as coaches Donna Denton and Michelle Skeer.

Abby Denton, Ella Easterby, Portia McRae, Lillie Paul, Daisy Tunkin and Lauren Van Eeden are all talented netballers and there is plenty of A Grade experience between them.

Paul and McRae have been regular starters for the Saints’ A Grade, while the others have had their opportunities throughout the season so far.

With an abundance of junior talent, Western Border will have two 15 and Under and 13 and Under sides.

In the 15 and Under Navy Blue team Mackinlee Alcock, Piper Paul and Poppy Venn will aim to impress for Millicent, while Matti Fauchelle, Mia Gysbers and Mylee Lynch will compete in the Sky Blue squad.

The 13 and Under Navy Blue team is also full of Saints, again with six of the 10 places filled by the club.

Millicent’s Hayley Dunn will coach that team, while Lucy Crowe is the only Saint in the 13 and Under Sky Blue side.
