Friends get together for festive fun

Local musicians are meeting this Sunday for the Country Get Together Christmas Bash, last held in 2021.

Popular country music entertainer, Allan Webster from Millicent, was recently reminiscing with friends about the successful 2021 performance when they decided it was time to host another.

Mr Webster is performing with lead guitarist Henry Czerwonka, Drew Holliday on bass guitar, Bronte Lockwood on drums and late addition to the line-up Gary Telford on keyboard, all from Mount Gambier.

“I’m appreciative that my mates are always eager to join me on stage,” Mr Webster said

“Whether it be for a paid show or a fundraiser, there have been many over the years.

“The South East certainly has some great talent.”

Recently promoting the show, Mr Webster, had the opportunity to perform live on local community radio station 5the FM.

Recent upgrades to the station meant the country music singer was the first musician to perform live on air in the new studio.

Although Mr Webster performs monthly at Resthaven in Mount Gambier, his public gigs are usually limited to three or four a year.

With three shows booked between December and January the musician is looking at a busy 2023 ahead.

The Country Get Together Christmas Bash is from 2pm to 5pm at the Millicent United Soccer Club.

Tea, coffee and bar are available with people welcome to bring their own snacks.

$20 per person and bookings can be made by phoning 0418 898 248.
