Carbon officer appointed for Board

APPOINTMENT: Limestone Coast Landscape Board's carbon outreach officer, Edele Stoner.

EDEL Stoner has been appointed the carbon outreach officer for the Limestone Coast Landscape Board.

The position will support landholders in their endeavours to learn more about carbon farming, and implementing carbon smart practices to reduce carbon emissions and identify carbon sequestration opportunities on their properties.

Carbon farming is a change to agricultural or land management practices that results in the reduction of carbon emissions or the sequestration of carbon in vegetation and soil.

With so much information available in a rapidly evolving space, Ms Stoner can provide independent information to support landholders to measure their properties for carbon emissions and capacity for carbon sequestration.

Ms Stoner can also provide advice and support on becoming a certified carbon neutral farm or business and explore the benefits of participating in carbon markets.

Ms Stoner will be offering carbon management workshops for landholders across the Limestone Coast in the near future.
