Tenison Woods College have again won the Howard Mutton Trophy for country schools.

This is the ninth time the school has won the trophy, which recognises values of school sport.

It was named for physical education advocate Howard Mutton, who believed in the social value and connections through involvement in sport and that there was a place and level of participation for anyone who wanted to give it a go.

Tenison Woods College principal David Mezinec said he was thrilled at the school’s success.

“We certainly pride ourselves on what we are able to offer our young learners here at Tenison Woods College and I congratulate all staff and students for their outstanding efforts in being recognised for this

award for a ninth time,” he said.

St Martin’s Lutheran College was the second place winner and Investigator College, in Victor Harbor, came in third for the country school category.

The trophy is awarded to the school with the largest total points for participation and achievements in School Sports SA secondary programs.
