LUCINDALE Roos claimed a comfortable victory over Millicent Black Hats in Round 13 of Millicent and Naracoorte cricket on Saturday.

It was an impressive victory over the ladder-leaders, with the Roos victorious in just the 30th over.

The Black Hats won the toss and elected to bat, with the early wicket of Jacob Todd for five runs, caught of Michael McGurk with the total at 10 not going to plan.

However, Mictchell Nitschke was joined in the middle by Sam Hunt and the pair put on another 18 runs before the latter was sent on his way, caught off the bowling of Brandon Nicolle for three.

The runs continued to flow at a steady rate, as Nitschke dug in with Ashton Lindner.

Nitschke worked his way to 28 off 35 deliveries before he was caught off Daniel Lane and the Blacks Hats sat at 3/47.

Lindner was next to go for a steady 14 runs, another Lane victim and just four runs later Josh Mason joined him on the sidelines, caught off Michael McGurk with just 11 runs next to his name.

Kobe Gibson came and went for three runs, and when Alex Wesolowski fell to Sam Teakle for 10, the Black Hats were struggling at 7/92.

Jaxon Cushion was the last Black Hat to reach double figures, before Teakle claimed the final two wickets, one run out, with the total at just 110 off the full 40 overs.

In response the Roos showed plenty of grit, with a 36-run opening stand from Will Graetz and Shane McGurk to set the foundation.

Graetz went for 13, while McGurk chalked up 24, with the total then at 2/66 and a win a real possibility.

Josh Smith knocked the ball around the park and was eventually bowled by Hunt for 23 runs off just 19 balls.

Nick Cane also scored at better than a run a ball, with 33 off 32 deliveries, bowled by Jacob Todd with the total at 106.

Todd then claimed a golden duck when he sent Cameron Taylor straight back to the sidelines, but it was too little, too late, as the Roos were victorious in the 30th over.
